Converting UK, USA, EU, and AUS Bra Sizes

A Guide to Converting Bra Sizes: UK, US, Europe, Australia

Navigating the world of bra sizes can be a daunting task, especially when dealing with different sizing systems across countries. This guide will help you convert between UK, US, European, and Australian bra sizes.

Understanding the Differences

Before diving into the conversion charts, it's important to understand the basic differences between these sizing systems:

  • Band size: The numerical part of the bra size, measuring the circumference under your bust.
  • Cup size: The letter part of the bra size, indicating the volume of the cup.
  • Sizing variations: While there are general conversion guidelines, it's essential to remember that bra sizing can vary slightly between brands and styles.

Note: These charts are a general guide. Actual fit can vary based on bra style and brand.

Band Size Conversion

UK/US (inches) Europe Australia
28 60 6
30 65 8
32 70 10
34 75 12
36 80 14
38 85 16
40 90 18
42 95 20

Please Note: Band sizing in Europe does not correspond directly to underbust circumference.
To get the correct EU band size, an approximate rule is to round the underbust measurement (in cm) to the nearest 5 cm and then subtract 10. (Eg. If the underbust circumference is 86cm, round down to 85cm and subtract 10, giving you 75 as the EU band size. This corresponds with the 34 inch underbust measurement from the UK and USA sizing system)

How to Measure Your Bra Cup Size

Bra size consists of two parts: band size and cup size.

Measuring for Band Size

  • Wrap a measuring tape around your ribcage, directly under your bust. Ensure it's snug but not too tight.
  • Round up to the nearest even number. This is your band size.

Measuring for Cup Size

  • Measure around the fullest part of your bust, ensuring the tape is level.
  • Subtract your band size from your bust measurement.
  • Use the chart below to determine your cup size based on the difference.

Bra Cup Size Chart

Difference (inches) Cup Size

2-3 A
3-4 B
4-5 C
5-6 D
6-7 DD
7-8 E
8-9 F
9-10 G
10-11 H

Example: If your underbust measurement is 32 inches and your bust measurement is 36 inches, the difference is 4 inches. Therefore, your cup size is C. Your full bra size would be 32C.

Note: Bra sizes can vary slightly between brands, so it's always a good idea to try on different bras to find the perfect fit.
